Many of the more than five hundred ornaments on our tree came from the collection of my late, great friend Kurt Woodill. Kurt's tree was twice the size of ours ... we both have used artificial trees partly for ecological reasons, and partly because putting up an artificial tree means that you don't have to restring all the lights every year. When Kurt passed away, I let half the ornaments go to other Christmas fans via garage sales and gifts.
But we certainly kept the tree top, an old GE light bulb of Santa.
